Our Services

Blain Pritchard are a full-service professional accountancy firm providing compliance and advisory services to small businesses and their owners. We are a small business ourselves, so we understand the challenges that you face running a small business on a daily basis.

If you are reading this because you need someone to deal with your accounting or tax returns, you have come to the right place. However, we should tell you that we view these basic compliance functions very much as a secondary purpose.

Our primary aim is to talk with you about your business, to determine where your goals are, and then help you to plan how to get there. Our expertise is best used in helping you answer questions like the following:

  • Why does your business exist?
  • Why are you running the business?
  • What do you want from the business?
  • Do you have a plan?
  • Are you measuring your progress?
  • Is there a better way?

If you would like to discuss the needs of your business with us, please contact us.

Blain Pritchard provided accountancy services that enable you to do what you are best at – managing and developing your business. You can rely on to help with tax, national insurance, VAT, bookkeeping and other accountancy matters.

We will deal with HM Revenue and Customs on your behalf, relieving you of the burden. We will also ensure that you comply with tax and accounting rules and more importantly, we can assist you to minimise your tax bill and keep more of the money that you have worked so hard to earn.

Our experienced accountancy staff can help you with your self-assessment tax returns, forms P11d, tax repayment claims and income tax statements of account. Blain Pritchard can also compile quarterly VAT returns for your business and advise on ways to reduce the amount payable.

We use the very latest accountancy software to undertake weekly, monthly and quarterly bookkeeping work – a service which is tailored to the exact requirements, and budget, of each client. This allows us to produce detailed management accounts and financial reports quickly and easily for your business.

Raising Finance

Raising Finance

Most businesses need to raise finance in order to get started. Later, funds will be required to allow the business to grow and fulfill its potential. Typically you will have used bank overdraft and loan facilities but it is difficult for a new and growing business to raise additional finance without putting up personal assets as collateral. Even then, security alone is not enough – your bank will also want clear evidence that the business will be able to make the necessary repayments.

We can help you to provide that evidence by preparing monthly or quarterly management accounts and helping you to compile detailed business plans, financial budgets and cash flow forecasts. Additionally, through our network of close professional contacts we can assist you to obtain other forms of finance, including:

  • Hire purchase and personal loans
  • Sales invoice factoring and discounting
  • Leasing and contract hire
  • Venture capital and private investment

Raising finance for a business is not easy, but there are many different approaches that can be tried. We can help you to find the money that you need and ensure that it is provided in a form which is suitable and cost-effective for your circumstances.

Wages & Employees

Any small business owner will tell you that life is simple until the day when you take on your first employee and have to start dealing with wages, payroll and HM Revenue and Customs! When you take on employees, you find out what red-tape really means and you become an unpaid tax collector and may even be fined for accidentally getting it wrong or sending forms in late!

Dealing with employee payroll should not be particularly difficult. HM Revenue and Customs provide employers with comprehensive manuals, flowcharts, help-cards, tax tables, free pay tables, national insurance tables and a stack of forms ready for completion and submission.

The problem is that, quite rightly, most business people do not have the time or the inclination to wade through all of the paperwork given to them. Nor do they have the time to perform all the necessary calculations and complete all the legal forms simply to be able to pay the weekly wages.

Blain Pritchard are experienced in dealing with all aspects of wages and employee legislation and will be pleased to relieve you of the burden. You can get on with running your business in the knowledge that experienced professionals are making sure that the payroll is calculated properly and that your business complies with the law. We will deal with HM Revenue and Customs on your behalf and make sure that all forms are completed accurately and submitted by the due date.

If wages and employee paperwork are one less hassle you could do without, please contact Blain Pritchard as we would like to help.

Software & Systems

If keeping business records manually is not for you, it is vital that you choose the most appropriate accounting software package for the precise requirements of your business. There are many accounting software products on the market and each has its own areas of excellence and mediocrity. The key is to ensure that your chosen software is strong in the areas which are most important to your business.

Blain Pritchard can help you to find the best software and system solution at the most competitive price. Since we have seen many different combinations of business and accountancy software, Blain Pritchard will have a clear understanding of which accounting package will be suitable for your business. Our detailed working knowledge and experience covers:

  • QuickBooks
  • Sage Line 50
  • Sage Instant Accounting
  • TAS Books

Choosing an accounting software and system to run it can be confusing. Contact Blain Pritchard today for advice and help in choosing the right package for your business.

To run your business efficiently and profitably in a world which is becoming ever more competitive, you need accurate and relevant support information, quickly and cheaply. You do not want to make vital business decisions based on incomplete, inaccurate or out of date information.

Blain Pritchard know this, which is why our specialist accounting and business advisors have access to vast data resources, which can be interrogated instantly, to find the information you require and get it to you while you can still act on it.

These resources include:

  • All UK Tax legislation and case law
  • Online links to Companies House
  • Internet links to major technical publishing houses
  • Access to credit reference agencies
  • Online links to business databases and directories
  • The knowledge and experience of our people

Support is only an email us or phone call away so if you need to find out something quickly, please contact us on Maidstone 01622 690888 or Sheerness 01795 580888.
